Village of Romeoville, IL

The Village of Romeoville took the lead on a major intersection upgrade at Illinois Route 53 (IDOT jurisdiction) and the main entrance into Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. The project consisted of widening IL 53 at University Parkway to accommodate a northbound protected left turn lane, a southbound exclusive right turn lane, and thru-traffic lane widening from 10’ to 12’. New traffic signals, storm sewer improvements, and complete pavement resurfacing were also included in this project.

The project was designed and constructed in conjunction with Lewis University and the Village of Romeoville. The Village was able to secure Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) for 80% of the engineering design and construction of this project.
